TreeItems not updating (0.7.1)

Hi. Yeah, this is a question about the much abhorred Tree widget. Unfortunately, I have gone from pain to suffering and am starting to join in on the lamentations about this particular control... Anyway, it is what I've got atm, and what I have to work with or around. Ok, so I have my tree, populate...

Re: Root TreeItems will not expand

Lol, yeah, it is difficult to fail to notice your sentiments regarding this control. As for me, as much as I'd like a better implementation, atm I'm happy I have a tree control at all, since that was what made me throw out OGRE's default version and start using the trunk instead! Still, a decent tre...

Re: Root TreeItems will not expand

I'm reviving this thread since it is closely relevant to my situation as well.

I have populated my tree, but it is not expanded by default. I can find no way to accomplish this (though methods or events). So basically, how do I make the tree to be fully expanded programatically?

Re: 0.7.1 on VC9, "syntax error: identifier 'GeometryBuffer'"

Yep, that was it. One file included the explicit OGRE path "CEGUI/CEGUIString.h", which threw everything off. Cheers, Eddie!

[Solved] 0.7.1 on VC9, "syntax error: 'GeometryBuffer'"

I've upgraded from the OGRE 1.6 default version 0.5.2 (iirc) to 0.7.1. Having linked to the libraries, now when trying to compile my application I get these errors: "cegui-sdk-0.7.1-vc9\cegui\include\ceguirenderedstring.h(95) : error C2061: syntax error : identifier 'GeometryBuffer'" "...

Re: The Development of CEGUI 0.7.x

Only thing I saw at a quick scan was that you might consider adding a notice in the beginners' guide to input injection section that additional injector may be coming.

Otherwise, it seems like solid work.

Re: 0.7.x - Summary of the suggestion about cooked click events

Heh, yeah, then we're at the same wavelength. Though tip-toeing around it, I was actually suggesting a revamp of the input system , where old interfaces, if required, would be provided by adaptors mimicking the old calls but built as convenience functions on top of the new system.

Re: 0.7.x - Summary of the suggestion about cooked click events

Did you mean that "a change of direction within CEGUI" would be breaking the normal usage expectancy for clients of the API, or that it would require a significant rewrite of that part of the framework? If the former, I had envisioned that there would be convenience events for clicks and d...

Re: 0.7.x - Summary of the suggestion about cooked click events

Some fast (and probably flawed) thoughts; since this is not going to break anything existing, perhaps we could implement this a bit more abstractedly? Double- and triple-clicking are really multitapping a mouse button two or three times. That is, a multitap event is switching a particular digital in...

Re: Falagard Visual Skin / Scheme Editor

Slightly unrelated, but I'm a bit curious: Would you develop this editor using something like wxWidgets, or would you actually make it using CEGUI itself? It would be easier, I think using Qt or wxWidgets, but on the other hand, it would be an excellent way of use-testing CEGUI and to test your skin...

Re: Falagard Visual Skin / Scheme Editor

I do not wish to hog or try to dominate this thread in any way, and so will post a reply and keep my mitts off until more opinions have been offered. I will also mention revenue, but I too would rather this does not become solely about that particular topic. I still think my logic holds, and I think...

Re: Falagard Visual Skin / Scheme Editor

I have been thinking a bit about this topic. I think that making an editor is an absolute must, and I also think that charging for it is a serious mistake. I will make my claims as logically as possible to allow my arguments to be criticised, addressed or substantiated. Given that Premises ⋅&nb...

Re: Falagard Visual Skin / Scheme Editor

Hi, yeah, I too want to create skins for CEGUI (am a graphics designer) but am intimidated by the current XML-only editing bonanza required, so a GUI tool for this is dearly needed! Speaking of dear, $30 for a hobbyist licence seems a bit steep, though. If you decide to charge, perhaps you should us...

Re: The Development of CEGUI 0.7.x

About compressed archived of all needed resource files, from a production perspective, this is actually quite an essential feature! I don't really think it would turn CEGUI into a resource management system, rather the opposite, it would allow the user not to have to worry about resources. It would ...
