Re: GUI renders in scene?

Hi, I dont know if this is somehow possible, but
Sesshomurai wrote:CEGUI has an Ogre renderer, so does this mean it already does this?

no. It means that CEGUI uses the OGRE engine to draw the 2D widgets on the screen.

Well this would have to be a separate imageset form the main 'gui' image set, is that possible? I dont want to have to include 8 billion icon images for all my possible buttons inside my main gui image set. This is possible, I explained it in the other post that i gave you the link ;) And another p...

OK, I see your problem, but I don't see a cause/solution :D maybe you can tell us wich renderer and wich version of CEGUI you use ? I use CEGUI 0.5 and OpenGL renderer and never had such problems. But to be honest, I use my own cursor not the CEGUI one.

AFAIK, masks doesn't exist (or only rectangular ones). If the minimap is fixed-size maybe you could accomplis it by creating a new widget type, but i don't know much about how to accomplis this.

I still only get it 1/2 ^^ explain me with wc3, i don't know WoW ... You mean that the button A has graphic A, but now the user selects another unit so the button A has to be replaced by another button B ? or does the button just have to become another graphic X ?? If it's the second one, you can do...

That doesn't look like a CEGUI issue to me, but it seems you forgot to clear the screen before every frame. I don't know what renderer you use, but in openGL you do it like this: glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT | GL_DEPTH_BUFFER_BIT) and in DX I think you do it by calling the D3DDevice::Clear...

I know warcraft good, but i'm not quite sure about what you mean with the buttons being able to move/drag. But I just wrote this post that could at least help you to create image buttons:

I think the most easy way to do it (if you load a layout from a xml blabla.layout file) is the following: Create a picture with the four button states (normal, over, pressed, disabled). The picture's size should be in powers of two. create an imageset file for that picture and put both the picture a...

I see what problem you have. The first idea that comes to my mind is maybe not the "nicest" ... Maybe you should simply create two layouts, one for the 16:9 aspect ratio and one for the 4:3 ?

edit: I see their tiling is rather...inefficient somewhere. A one pixel background tiled over an area is quite the killer. Luckily stretched is fine, though since these are just test images, I don't know what the future will hold. Whatever it is, I will just have to make sure that if it is tiled th...

I think this has more something to do with your renderer, like DirectX or OpenGL, ... CEGUI doesn't even know of the ratio change, you have to tell CEGUI that it changed.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to detect these changes ^^
