Re: Element::SetPosition() and SequentialLayoutContainers

Updating the version to the 0-8 branch did not make a difference :-/. The child elements remained in the old position after the parent window of the LayoutContainer was moved. In order to debug this better, how are positional updates propagated to the children? Is it somehow different from dragging?...

Re: Element::SetPosition() and SequentialLayoutContainers

Do you mean 0.8.7 for CEGUI? I'm not using CEED, which is what appears to be a v0-8.

I can certainly try it; will take a bit while I set everything up.

[Solved] Element::SetPosition() and SequentialLayoutContainers

Hey everyone, I recently wrapped some of my UI items in SequentialLayoutContainers in order to give me greater flexibility in what is displayed in my UI windows. I'm running into an issue though where setting the position of the parent window (via SetPosition()) is not updating the position of the c...

Re: [Solved]Events with multiple possible sources

I tested it and it worked like a charm. I appreciate the help, Ident. This has been a most edifying discussion, as knowing this feature will make a lot of other things easier for me to do.

Cheers!

Re: Events with multiple possible sources

Hey, Ident, Thanks for all the answers. One follow up: What's the proper way of programmatically (as opposed to in XML) defining a new Property, one that can be added with addProperty()? Would it be using the TplProperty class? I ask because that class requires getters / setters which are usually de...

Re: Events with multiple possible sources

Hey, Ident, A more concrete example. I have two NPC's on the screen, I click one, and a window comes up which allows me to rename it. The callback function for the "Apply" button is part of a Singleton system called the NPCmanager. So I need to determine which NPC was clicked during the ca...

[Solved] Events with multiple possible sources

Hi all, I had another quick question, this time having to do with events. In this case, I'm working on a game where there are multiple objects on the screen which the user can click on. Doing so open up a "Item Information" window which, among other things, allows the user to tweak that pa...

Re: [Solved] TabControl: Enabling / Disabling Tabs

More than happy to share :) Indeed, deactivating the tab should render it unresponsive to inputs, but (at least in my case) it should also be invisible to the user. This would also include ensuring that tabs that remained visible / active had their associated tab buttons correctly positioned on the ...

Re: TabControl: Enabling / Disabling Tabs

After a bit of digging, I found that you can call removeChild() ( as opposed to removeTab() ) and have the TabControl remove the associated TabButton correctly without the window inside the tab being affected. You still need somewhere to keep the now orphan window, but you can then easily restore it...

[Solved] TabControl: Enabling / Disabling Tabs

Hey all, I've been looking through the forum for a way to achieve this and I've found a few posts, but I'm not grasping the whole picture from the answers (specifically, here and here ). To describe the situation, I'm working on a game where clicking on objects opens up a tabbed information window. ...

Re: Issue Re-opening a Popup [Solved]

Or I can just spend a bit more time and figure it out... The magic line is: <Property name="AutoCloseNestedPopups" value="true" /> Tracing the code, I found that MenuBase::d_autoCloseNestedPopups, the variable controlling the collapse behaviour, defaults to false. I'm not entirel...

That's quite al'right, YaronCT. I appreciate you taking the time to look into it. If there's any information I can give or any avenue I can pursue to help diagnose the issue, just let me know.

Issue Re-opening a Popup [Solved]

Hi everyone, I'm working on a context menu which appears when you right-click on the screen and am having an issue when I try to re-open it after it's been used. Specifically, my context menu has (currently) 3 layers of menus (Top, Sub, then Options) as specified below. The menu disappears correctly...

Re: ScrollablePane not showing

So after looking at a few more examples I found that replacing the Size / Position attributes with the Area attribute fixed the issue. The changes are as follows: <Property name="Position" value="{{0.0,0.0},{0.0,0.0}}" /> <Property name="Size" value="{{1.0,0,0},{0....
