Re: Vector GUIs

I've had a look at Antigrain (AGG) and it looks very cool :D I have absolutely no experience that kind of library though, and the API seems very different from "conventional" graphics APIs on first glimpse. Yeh, AGG is a little different from your typical getDC(), dc.lineTo(), dc.moveTo()...

Re: combining wxwidgets, orge and cegui possible?

If we use the wxwidgets mouse for interacting inside the ogre frame, we have to calculate between the different coordinates- and with cegui we can drop that! If that is truly the only reason you want to use CEGUI, then you really really REALLY don't need CEGUI. It's way way WAY overkill for transfo...

Re: BUG: VS7.1 - Runtime error for all Samples

Yep. That's a problem with Visual Studio. :? Annoying as all get out too. For some reason Microsoft thinks the working directory for projects doesn't belong in the project files. Instead, the working directory gets saved in the .ncb file that otherwise contains mostly user-specific UI stuff like whe...

Re: Resizing SDL Ogre window without resizing CEGUI elements

I think it would be nice if the demos all used setDisplaySize(). That was one of the first things I noticed about CEGUI based on the demos -- that everthing looked horrible when the window was resized. It would be nice if at least one demo used setDisplaySize() with absolute sizing. Then first time ...

Re: CEGUICommonFileDialog

hash_map is a non-standard STL container. (Or at least it was until recently. Maybe it's official now). Anyway, the interface is identical to std::map, only the implementation is different. So you should be able to just replace "hash_map" with "map" everywhere you see it. The dif...

Vector GUIs

I get the feeling recently that vector graphics are rapidly becoming more and more important. There's the GAMESWF project targeting games specifically, but outside the gaming world there's the Windows Presentation Foundation, Avalon, XAML. In Mac the core drawing API is based on PDF, from what I und...

Re: New Site: Any problems? Post here!

I don't want to sound ungrateful, because obviously you've put a lot of your precious time into putting this forum together. But frankly, I cringe every time I have to visit these forums. The reasons are many: 1) The load times are atrocious. I'm not sure if it's the server or the internet connectio...

Re: Subscribing to "new" Events

I think Trentin wants to have his button state reflect the game state in some way. For instance a "resurrect" button that is only enabled when the player is dead. So he wants to have a global "died" event that various widgets can subscribe to. Does that sound pretty much like wha...

Re: Dragging frame window by clicking on background?

Ok. That pretty much makes sense. I was playing around with the title height and alpha attributes to see if I could make something similar to that work, but the alpha didn't seems to actually be making the titlebar transparent, and it was on top of the rest of the frame in the zorder so I couldn't c...

Re: Implementing a circular clipped map

I think that's a little tough for CEGUI to handle. The basic rendering of the reoriented map would be pretty easy to do with a 3D api like opengl. Just a matter of setting up the transformation matrix right then rendering the map texture. Circular clipping can be done using something like alpha test...

Dragging frame window by clicking on background?

I'm trying to make something like a floating tool palette out of a FrameWindow. I'm using the Falagard Vanilla looknfeel out of CVS. Is there some way to make it so that I can move a FrameWindow by clicking anywhere on its background? It seems like drag-move behavior is only defined for CEGUI::Title...

Oops, should have turned smileys off:

That should read:
background->setProperty("HorzFormatting", "Tiled");
background->setProperty("VertFormatting", "Tiled");

HorzFormatting = Tiled mode?

I'm trying to make a simple change to the demo FalgardDemo1 example to make the background tiled instead of stretched. Is this possible? So far everything I've tried has had no effect. I couldn't find anywhere in the code that the HorzFormatting property was checked either, so I'm starting to think ...
