Re: A little skin editor

That's the one drawback you'll have to accept: GTK can't do TGA files. I just convert to PNG which can also handle transparency. So: 1) Convert your favorite graphics file to .PNG using your favorite imageeditor 2) Change the outermost element, in your .imageset file so that the Imagefile attribute ...

Re: A little skin editor

Each element is in it's own layer in Gimp. When I'm about to finalize, they will just be moved away from each other with a snap of the fingers :P

My newest creation:

Re: GUI in the works.

Allright! Now there are Taharez, Krakken, Jacmoe and me working on skins. That is FOUR people. It is not going to be long before the first TEN skins are ready for use - and it would seem they each fit their own purpose. @Krakken: I like your skin - very arcade'ish. Love that style, but not very good...

Re: A little skin editor

Funny. Future3 is really the fastest and simplest skin of them all. (Of course none of them are finished but as long as the style is fixed and ready, it's ok with me. I can always pick up when somebody requests another feature or a new element in CEGUI) When I'm not lazy, sick or at work, I doodle a...

Re: A little skin editor

Wow, wha..? It's wednesday?! How did that happen? I sat down with some milk and biscuit and woke up with newspapers piled over me. New version of futuristic3 and horror1 uploaded. (Notice the slight name change of future->futuristic. I should think up some better names, but for now the names will be...

Re: A little skin editor

Well, they aren't quite finished yet. But the window itself should work on them all. Could you give a screenshot of the problem / say which skin works bad. The mousecursor in some of them is unfinished. I don't know which CEgui I'm using. The one that was bundled with a not-too-new Ogre (a handful o...

Re: A little skin editor

Thanks! The fun part about making skins for a game-engine is that no matter what crazy concept one can think of, there is bound to be some maniac at some point who is going to need just that. There's artistic freedom for ya. @CrazyEddie: Artists could use a little guidance from the developers about ...

Re: A little skin editor

All right then. Here are the first feeble stabs at skins for TaharezLook. They are far from finished but I'd like a few comments even now. As you can see, my experience grew with each of them (Future1, Future3, Horror1). Skin editors (bax's version is 0.1.1): http://artcamilla.dk/vaultage/projects/c...

Re: A little skin editor

Thanks Eddie, and for a grrreat GUI too :) Man, skin creation has become easy. Why the hell didn't we do this much earlier? As soon as I have made one skin finished (using TaharezLook.dll) the experiences gathered will be put together to make a little tutorial. ... Or perhaps I'll wait until CEGUI 0...

Re: A little skin editor

It works GREAT! Thanks a bunch for the many small changes. I originally thought that dragging both start and end points for each area would be too slow, but it seem to work well in your version. Funny to see one's own code sensibly refactored :D I'll work on some skins now (and as you can see my sol...

..Plus:
- Copy one setup and paste to another which uses the same pixels

Thanks. Do keep thinking. However expect development to be a bit slow as I'll concentrate on making skins for a period

A little skin editor

Hello forum. Making new .imageset-files is quite hard if you do it by hand, which moved me to hack together a small utility that can assist in the process of locating coordinates. You will need Python, PyGTK and GTK: Windows Python Windows PyGTK Windows GTK And of course the editor itself: Crazy Ski...
