Changing schemes on the fly (like TestaSkin)

I would like to create an application where the look/skin can easily be changed. The application TestaSkin does this so I know it is possible. My understanding of TestaSkin is that it creates .layout files where each widget is specified in a scheme-less manner: Button rather than TaharezLook/Button ...

I do not see anything wrong. Have you checked the cegui.log for hints? The only "dangerous" bit is the window name. You could extract that portion of the code and assign it to a window variable: CEGUI::Window* testWindow = wmgr.getWindow((CEGUI::utf8*)"GameLayout/book/magic1");

The forums seem to be spending a lot of time downloading images; the HP/MP/EXP bars and others. I find these cute but not at the expense of the slowing down the forums; I'm much more interested in the text than in how it looks. I wish there were parameters in the profile configuration to not view/do...
