Xerces-C++ 2.6.0 should work without any troubles.

If you're absolutely certain that the pre-compiled version you're using is the one made with the same compier, STLport version, etc, then it should be okay. You don't have another copy in your path somewhere which is being used? (This is what tripped me up).

Just to clarify; are you using 0.1.0? If so can you perform a CVS update, since there is an important bug fix which concerns your issue, so long as you update from the 0.1.0 source you'll get bug-fixes and stay on the 'stable' branch (I hopw to put out a bug-fix release later on this week).
