This is probably a duh moment for me but no renderers are showing up in the list.

Do you need to do anything special to get them to show up?

Which OS are you using? Did you build CEGUI yourself?

In theory when nothing shows in that list it means that there are (or the samples framework thinks there are) no renderer modules built. That's almost certainly the case on Win32/MSVC, if this is with the gtk version of the dialog, I must confess this has not actually been tested recently, so could be something else.
