Ok. This afternoon the video card in my main development system exploded - so at the moment things have pretty much come to a halt - not just CEGUI stuff, but everything since I have all my 'other stuff' on that machine too
Anyway, I thought I'd try and get some opinions about perhaps the best thing to do here, the old card was the NVidia 7800 GTX and the machine as a whole is quite old (nForce 4 based). The main issue I'm having is with the whole PCI-E 1.0a <-> PCI-E 2.0 compatibility thing - I don't want to be buying a 2.0 card that will not work in my ancient mobo, though at the same time, all the 1.0a cards now available are seemingly crap in comparison to the dearly deceased 7800 GTX. The replacement card has to be NVidia and has to be equal or better than the old card.
So, does this effectively mean a whole new build? Have the PCI-E 2.0 backward compatibility issues been addressed?
Thanks for any tips
CE
