Generic forms/Layouts

Postby wingdongdoodle » Fri Jul 15, 2005 21:35

I notice that one thing that is lackign from CEGUI is a common dialogs thing/generic forms/interfaces/layouts, whatnot.

for example, Im about to partake in using CEGUI to create a "File Open" menu using C++ (perhaps SDL for cross platform goodness).

anyways, i was wondering if it would be possible to create some sort of downlaod section for these common windows? I know it would be usefull to have them, save a lot of trouble for other people.

I currently have (in progress) a simplistic main menu layout for a game, and a Options menu, as well as a controls configuration menu. all still partially in progress though, but i would still be more then happy to sharethe code/layouts of these things. It would seem something like this would be very beneficial to the community.

also, i would like to possibly offer my current attempt at a simple CEGUI + OpenGL + SDL framework. Might not be the most clean code ever made, but its fucntional and realtivly easy to understand.

sorry if im rambling a bit, i just had a rather large dose of coffe to start off my programming binge this weekend :)

[Edit] saw a post partway down thats similiar to this, saidsomething about doign it in the wiki? if someone would share with me how to do this (new to this wiki thing) i would gladly add what information i have.

The WIKI is very easy to use actually.
There's a toolbar for most things. If you're in doubt you can just press edit on some page that uses what you want, if you never press save, no harm will be done!

Otherwise the wikipedia homepage has some good documentation at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Con ... or_editors
