Propagating Events like EventMouseEnters???

For help with anything that CEGUI doesn't offer straight out-of-the-box, e.g.:
- Implementation of new features, such as new Core classes, widgets, WindowRenderers, etc. ...
- Modification of any existing features for specific purposes
- Integration of CEGUI in new engines or frameworks and writing of new plugins (Renderer, Parser, ...) or modules

Propagating Events like EventMouseEnters???

Postby Jamarr » Thu Oct 02, 2008 19:27

Ok, so I have a FrameWindow and I want to detect whenever the mouse enters or leaves the window. So I subscribed to the EventMouseEnters and EventMouseLeaves events, but it did not behave as I would have expected. Basically, the only time my subscribed methods get called is if I hover over the frame's border. If I hover over any child element, nothing happens. Because the mouse is generally fast-moving, the frame border does not catch the mouse entering the window, so even though my mouse has entered the window the event is never fired :/

For now I'm using the EventMouseClick to lock/unlock the window to change states, but ideally this would only need to be done with a mouse in/out event. Is there something I'm missing, or does this just not work?

Hi,

This is an issue that needs to be fixed, yeah. I have a vague recollection of this issue coming up a little while back. I'll find the 'other' thread that mentions this and add a ticket to mantis so that it does not get lost again :?

CE.
