Listbox-= selection - mouse does item is not displayed as se

I an using a set of list boxes populated with data. If I scroll and select an item, it is getting displayed as selected. At present I am using not using any event handler for list box.
Pl. let me know how too display the item as selected.
A code snippet will help me out.
