precompiled framework has non-standard install path on OSX

Postby wally » Fri Sep 12, 2008 05:56

Hi

I've just started porting my OGRE / CEGUI project to Mac. It's working (OSX Leopard, XCode 3.1, CEGUI 0.6.1), but I had a bit of trouble initially.
(^^edit added CEGUI version)

It seems that the precompiled OSX framework is compiled with an install path of
<bundle>/Contents/Resources
whereas usually a private framework in OSX bundles is configured to install to
<bundle>/Contents/Frameworks

or so I'm told, I'm pretty new to Macs myself but this is the thread it was discussed on:
http://lists.apple.com/archives/Xcode-u ... 00183.html

Can I suggest this be changed to the "standard way" in future releases?

Cheers,
Michael

Hi,

CE is our Mac maintainer, but he's also new to it :)

I think he will reply here too.

Thanks in advance for the heads-up.
Check out my released snake game using Cegui!

Hi,

You are totally correct, of course, though I was actually previously aware of this inconsistency, and in fact drew attention to it in the posting here :P

I intend to address this in the 0.7.0 series, which will have an all new XCode project made from scratch rather that using the old one and trying to maintain compatibility with what went before.

Thanks for thinking to point it out though :)

CE.
