Hey there,

Just a shout out to say that we released the 0.5.0 version of OpenDungeons, a free open-source GodSim inspired by the well known Dungeon Keeper. :)

0.5.0_mainnewsimg.png

Core game play:
- Create your dungeon to attract powerful creatures and eradicate your enemies.
- Invoke worker minions to expand your evil influence and spread your will upon the map.
- Fight with or against friends or foes in multiplayer.

Main features implemented in 0.4.9-0.5.0:
- Fog of war.
- Cross-platform multiplayer support.
- Save/Load support.
- Replay support.
- GUI complete revamp, upgrade and polish (This one is my own work ;]).
- Most models using normals support.
- You can play as a Keeper or as a Hero, and thus have different minions to play with.
- Start of a skill tree implemented. Your creatures will have to search at the library to unlock new rooms/traps/spells.
- Tier I and II Creatures and Rooms implemented. Other Tiers in progress.
- Most important thing, this game is fun. :)

Cool project, thanks for the post! Looks a lot like Dungeon Keeper indeed. However, I see no 1st person mode (like DK had) in the video. Does it exist?

Not yet. Part of the code is there for that feature, but taking control of a unit still lack a good deal of logic.
Part of my tasks is to refactor a bit how game modes are handled before this can happen, btw.

But we're getting there! :D
