CEGUI Debian package news

Hey there,
I've open a new topic so it doesn't mix with this one anymore:
viewtopic.php?p=33587#p33587(See there for the intertwined previous discussion about the debian package.)
Muammar has answered my email and he ok to wait a few days for the 0.8.5 (?) release before rebuilding the package.
From the discussion, the package should have opengl, opengl3+, and ogre renderers + python bindings.
Once he's done on that part and the package is finally uploaded, I'll be able to use it as a dependency to create the CEED debian package.
Best regards,

We still have to remove a blocker in order to release the next version. We already checked for ABI and API compatibility which was successful, so after that blocker is lifted we should be able to release. Martin is working on it.

Hi again,
We're now the 16th. And without willing to give you any pressure, I think I'll tell Muammar to release cegui 0.8.4 as the older package will become unbuildable on the 26th due to the drop of the older ogre versions, and this could complicate the package management.
Once the new release is done and working, I'll bug him again.
So no pressure.
Best regards,

Hey there
Good news:
https://ftp-master.debian.org/new/cegui ... 8.4-1.htmlThe package is in the new queue. Once accepted, it will officially part of Debian (Experimental, then Sid AFAIK).
Best regards,

Good news
I just read over the package overview and it seems that the copyright is quite old (version 0.5 of CEGUI). Can you tell him to please update to some 0.8.x version of the CEGUI copyright?

Hey again,
The gcc4.x to gcc-5.x transition is more or less ending. Still waiting for the newest package to be ready.
I know it's not much, but I'm still over watching all that.
Best regards,

quick question: out of curiosity, is CEED going to be a part of the Debian package? (fingers crossed)

I want to package it myself, in fact.
The thing is, I don't want to steal Muammar's place if he's ok to do it. The cegui package still needs to be accepted so that next packages goes more easily in.
If things take too long, I'll ask to be able to be reviewed about my own packages.
Best regards,

Hey everyone
Just to say that I just noticed the debian package of 0.8.4 is on unstable!!
https://packages.debian.org/sid/main/libcegui-mk2-0.8.4Also, I took the opportunity to package Ceed for debian, you can find the work sources there:
https://github.com/Bertram25/ceedUnfortunately, atm, the current packaged Ceed version doesn't run
because PyCEGUI doesn't seem to be included within the ceed package. I'll make sure Muammar is aware of it.
EDIT: The actual reason is that the boost python used seems to differ per default. It might be an error on my own. A bug has been opened about it:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo ... bug=810972Stay tuned!
