Why does the Layout Editor force a root Window?

Postby Das Gurke » Sat Jan 06, 2007 14:42

I really do not understand this. My app defines a "blank" root layer itself and simply adds any GUI Widget onto that. These Widgets can be turned on and off, so there are quite a few of them. Forcing a root element imho does only make sense when putting the whole gui into one .layout file.

That's true. I am personally thinking about removing them as well or give the option when a new layout is started.

Best solution could be to simply add a "Root" option at the top level:

*Widgets
**Root
**DefaultWindow
**DragContainer
**Vanilla
**TaharezLook
**WindowsLook

Isn't the DefaultGUISheet providing this feature?
