[SOLVED] - Open Directive. Why limited to .layout?

Postby Van » Sun Dec 14, 2008 12:18

Why is 0.6.2 checking to see if any *.layout files exist prior to giving an OPEN dialog?

Why is the layout editor assuming that people only use .layout as their extension?

Why was the open dialog even changed?

Can we please stop trying to make the layout editor smarter than the user using it.

Hi,

the reason for prompting with a predefined list, is to make the editor act more closely to Cegui's inner workings with regards to resource groups.

The earlier method (where you could open any file) was actually a trick, IIRC. Now it's clear that the layouts are read from the correct folder in your project's resource group.

Why is the layout editor assuming that people only use .layout as their extension?

You are right about this one, what were we thinking?! I've added a ticket to mantis to at least add more file types.
