Menu bar colors&texture(Taharezlook)

hello, I'm currently customizing the taharezlook to have a more windows like theme for a little app.
The main problem I have at this time is how to customize the menubar.
I tried to change the colors of the bar but even with FFFFFFFF values(full white), the bar is still grey.
Otherwise, I'd like to use a texture in place of a simple color for this bar.
How to?

edit: ho, and I'm using the Taharezlook.looknfeel, with some colors values modified.

And even with

in my layout, the color is still the same dark grey.
